St. Martin Shooting - Jerrion Tiyon Smith Arrested After 39-Year-Old Man Shot

Authorities in Jackson County, Mississippi, are investigating a shooting in St. Martin that left a 39-year-old man injured and led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Moss Point man.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported shooting on North Tucker Road near the 10700 block at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

When deputies arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were investigated, and authorities identified Jerrion Tiyon Smith, 26, of Moss Point, as a suspect.

Suspect Arrested After Altercation

The sheriff’s office said the shooting occurred following an altercation involving Smith and the 39-year-old victim.

Smith was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault in connection with the incident. The charge is an allegation, and Smith is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

The victim was transported by LifeFlight to a medical facility for treatment. Authorities said he was listed in stable condition following the shooting.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active as deputies continue working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
